....since I've posted anything.
I'd like to tell you that my life just got too busy, but in all honesty, that really isn't a good enough excuse, because I should always find time to be with friends :)
Our family took 3 days a couple of weeks ago to help pack up Mom's home. The packing part wasn't really the most work though....it was taking every last thing and deciding whether to throw it away, give it to Salvation Army, send it home with one of us, set it aside to put in Mom's room in the Care Home or set it aside for a garage sale. Yikes. It was an emotional time for Mom and so very, very difficult for her to reduce her life all down to one small room!!
On April 13th we moved Mom into the Care Home. Now that she has a new flat screen TV and a leather recliner with a remote to lower/raise the back and foot rest, which after the stroke, is so much easier for Mom to get in and out of the chair.
Mom is much happier living in the Care Home rather than the hospital and it's such a relief for us kids to see her happy. This has been such a year of loss so far for her.
Hubby & I have just accomplished a huge spring clean in our home, shed and will be finishing the yard by the weekend. As new blades of green grass pokes thru the brown stuff and fresh budding leaves burst on branches and shrubs, we patiently wait until next month before filling our planters with Annual flowers. Can't wait!! But remember....last year we had snow on the May long weekend :P
