The Monster's name is
STROKE!!! Yesterday morning when talking to Mom on the phone, there was silence and then Mom was slurring her words and not making sense. She did get out that she thought she was fine but I knew she wasn't. I called her neighbor to go check on Mom and she confirmed that something was wrong...I called the ambulance and met them at the hospital. This stroke came suddenly, without the terrible neck and headache of the previous two TIAs and has affected her left side. At first unable to squeeze her left hand or raise her left leg, but by late afternoon she accomplished both. She still cannot coordinate hand/eye movements, so cannot eat or drink on her own.
Please pray that with rest and time in the hospital, Mom will be able to come out and only need home-care....right now we just have to wait and see.My Brother saw our Doc this aft and the Doc mentioned that Mom will be in the hospital for a while(very possibly until after C-mas). Doc noticed confusion as well as the fact that she'll need physio. We are also having to consider putting Mom into the Care Home....my Brother and Doc are already working on it, just to be prepared.
