Five Years

Five years ago today, our precious son was so tragically taken from us. We still miss him SOOOO very much!! He was such a typical "youngest" kid, with a sunny, goofy,fun-loving personality that brought so much laughter into our family. You could always count on David to tell you long dramatic stories about his day in school or a movie he'd watched. He loved his family, life, music, photography and above all God!!
When he was a young boy we went to a Petra Concert and he just loved this song and asked that it be played at his Memorial Service when he passed away. We honored that request and here it is: "This is my Prayer" by Petra

I have posted this before, however I just got this again and thought it was too special to not bear repeating. Life goes by too fast, but it's nice when you get stopped in your busy tracks and get a gentle reminder of just how special and NEEDED you really are. Let the week begin with a smile on your face. A little gift from me to you.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men....

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in..

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give..

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Autumn Dance

"Come said the wind to
the leaves one day,
Come o're the meadows
and we will play.
Put on your dresses
scarlet and gold,
For summer is gone
and the days grow cold."
- A Children's Song of the 1880's

Awareness

Dad, today is Alzheimer's Awareness Day and we remember you....our wonderful Dad. It breaks my heart that you had to live with this horrible disease that took over your mind and body, but it did NOT destroy your love for us....we are "your people" forever :)

Yesterday was a very important day for our Son. Canada has joined other Countries in the "Got Talent" TV shows. This was an opportunity for our Son to go into Vancouver and Audition. The grand prize of money is nothing compared to the career defining exposure a show like this can give anyone with the talent to win. My Son said,"So, I am thrilled because I went for it. Did it! Nailed the vocal parts! If I get a call back I will be so so so thrilled, but if not I won't lose a beat pursuing music and hope CGT comes back next year!" And this was the feelings of most of the hundreds of people there for the chance of their life.

14

Yesterday was our grandson, Tyson's Birthday. He turned 14!! Wow!! He had his party on Friday night and so yesterday was just us two with his parents and sister for Birthday cake and gifts. My hubby and he find xbox fascinating and can sit for hours, controllers in hand, leaning slightly forward in their chairs with eyes intensely glued to the TV screen and the occasional yelp of frustration or victory!! So, guess what his gift was??? Yup, a new game.
